17 weeks-Ran the Wulfman CDT 14k race this past weekend. I felt really good and the toughest part was holding back on all the uphills. I let loose on the downhills. Running moderate I placed 9th overall and first overall master. I ran 1:17:51 and my best time (and only time I ran this race) was 2yrs ago in 1:04:10. I can't wait until next year. My goal is to try to run faster than ever before.
I am starting to get really big. 9 lbs weight gain in just a few weeks. I don't know how long I will be able to run trails but so far so good. Every trail run I count myself lucky that I am able to run and feel comfortable. I know that my days are likely numbered where I will still feel good running.
Some symptoms I am experiencing:
Calf cramps at night. I upped my calcium intake and that helped a little bit.
Slight calf burning when I run up hill. This symptom was the killer symptom in my first pregnancy. It felt like my calves were on swimming in lactic acid when I ran uphill.
Sharp low back pain when I am doing some floor exercises. I decided to stop these for a while.
Other than that I feel fantastic. I have so much more energy and my appetite is decent.
Here are my next few planned adventures- leave for USFS cabin tomorrow. Plan to run 90 min to 2 hrs every day that we are there on trails.
Run a 25k trail race point to point course. This is tentative since the race director said there is waist high deep snow on the course today AND I am not sure how I will feel in 9 days. Every day I feel the twins are growing a little bit. If I don't run the 25k trail race, the plan is to run up a mountain and down with my trail friends.
My next ultrasound is in 2.5 weeks.
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone!
By the way, Eon turns 3 in 5 days. :)
Running Happy
